Clinician Engagement Opportunities

We engage doctors, nurses and other clinical care providers in our work to improve the care of patients province-wide. Their contributions are essential to our success.

Depending on the type of leadership or advisory role they take on, these clinicians may help:

  • shape our strategy
  • establish best practices
  • design and implement system improvements
  • translate knowledge into practice
  • measure and evaluate programs, clinical practices, and performance

Our clinician engagement team helps make sure we match the right clinicians with the right opportunities, and that we follow a common framework for clinician engagement across the organization. Their goal is to provide the best possible experience for both the clinician and the organization.

Current Opportunities

All opportunities before July 25, 2022 for the following Ontario Health portfolios are posted here: Access to Care, Cancer Care Ontario, Ontario Palliative Care Network and Ontario Renal Network. To apply, forward your expression of interest and resume or curriculum vitae electronically as specified in each posting.

All opportunities from July 25 onwards for all Ontario Health portfolios are posted on the Ontario Health Clinician Engagment Opportunities page.

Who We Engage With

Every year, hundreds of clinicians from across Ontario participate in our expert panels, case reviews and formal leadership positions. By taking on part-time or occasional positions with us, these clinicians have the opportunity to help improve the healthcare system, while continuing to care for patients as their primary role.

We engage with many different types of professionals such as:

  • family physicians and specialists
  • nurses, including nurse practitioners
  • pharmacists
  • radiation therapists and clinical specialist radiation therapists
  • medical radiation technologists and medical physicists
  • social workers and psychologists
  • speech language pathologists
  • dietitians
  • physiotherapists and occupational therapists

Roles for Clinicians

Most of our opportunities for clinicians are part-time or occasional volunteer roles. We also make appointments to a range of remunerated clinical positions through a formal procurement process. Opportunities for clinicians to be involved are typically related to our lines of business – cancer care, renal care or other priority areas.

Volunteer opportunities include appointments as members and chairs of:

  • working groups
  • communities of practice
  • advisory panels
  • guideline groups

Remunerated roles include:

  • provincial clinical leads
  • regional clinical leads
  • case reviewers
